About Genealogy & Local History

Reading Books

Beardsley Library's Genealogy & Local History Collection is housed in two rooms that are named for former presidents of the library's Board of Trustees - Edward Payson Jones and Virginia T. Leighton. Our collection focuses on family, town, and state history, and it includes reference, circulating, and digital resources.

A Research Assistant manages our collection, conducts research, and assists patrons. Walk-ins are welcome, and children and teens under the age of 18 are asked to be accompanied by an adult. We also welcome research requests made via email, phone, or mail.
